Storm & Wind Damage Roof Repair in Las Vegas

The National Weather Service describes Las Vegas monsoon storms as scattered thunderstorms with gusty winds that occasionally cause damage and heavy rain that can trigger flash flooding. Spring and fall bring their own strong wind events. If a storm has damaged your roof, send a request below and we’ll pass it to an independent local roofer.

When storms hit

  • Monsoon season: The NWS defines the monsoon season as June 15 to September 30; in Las Vegas the moisture typically arrives in July and August.
  • Wind events: Strong winds are most common in spring and fall, typically from the southwest or northwest, and can carry blowing dust and sand.

What to check after a storm (from the ground)

  • Missing, cracked, or slipped tiles; lifted or missing shingles
  • Debris on the roof or in gutters
  • Bent flashing, vents, or damaged rooftop equipment
  • New ceiling stains or drips inside

Stay off the roof, especially when it’s wet, and keep clear of any downed power lines.

What a roofer typically does

  1. Inspects for wind and water damage and identifies urgent problems.
  2. Puts temporary protection, such as tarping, on active leaks if needed.
  3. Recommends permanent repairs and can provide photos and a written estimate you can use with your insurance company.

Insurance coverage depends on your policy. This site doesn’t give insurance advice; check with your insurer about how to file a claim.

Typical costs

Angi lists hail and storm-type damage repairs at roughly $700–$4,000 nationally, and notes emergency or after-hours service can add about $100–$300. These are typical national ranges, not quotes. See the cost guide.

Before you hire

Whoever you end up hiring, the Nevada State Contractors Board recommends checking the contractor’s license on the NSCB website, getting the scope and price in a written contract, and not paying in cash.
